Magistrates
in the Community Group
The Magistrates in the Community Group is a national scheme supported
and funded by the Magistrates Association and the Department of
Constitutional Affairs.
Suffolk Magistrates Courts have trained Magistrate presenters who are
available throughout the local area to explain their work in the
Courts, run sentencing exercises and encourage participants to visit a
working Court. All school students receive a Certificate of Attendance
for inclusion in their Record of Achievement file.
The scheme is open to all age groups and can include schools, colleges,
leisure groups, employers, hospitals, youth groups, churches, etc.
The presentations are entirely free of charge, including booklets,
photocopying and much more.
For more information on the scheme please contact your local
Magistrates' Court's office or The Suffolk Magistrates Association
